The Foundation's collection, which includes photographs produced by professional , amateur, and anonymous residents of the region, now boasts more than 75,000 photographs from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Morocco, and from the Lebanese diaspora in Argentina, Mexico and Senegal. The Foundation bases the selection of images for its collection according to aesthetic, artistic, cultural and historical criteria, regardless of genre.

The collection represents a rare document of the modernizing Arab world and of the development of photographic practices in the region. The collection will permit scholars, artists and the public at large to shed light on artistic and cultural currents that emerged in the region during a period of intense social, economical, cultural and political transformation.
